Polymers provide most of the materials used in daily life, such as clothes, plastics, papers, adhesives and even in our bodies. Therefore, this course is aimed to introduce students to polymer sciences, technology and engineering.

This course provides fundamental concepts of polymer chemistry, including classification of polymers, mechanisms for synthesis and reaction of polymers, thermodynamics, and kinetics of polymerization, and copolymerization; molecular weight, stereoisomerism, morphology, solubility, and thermal transitions; rubber and viscoelasticity; and the molecular basis for physical properties.
